This blog is for my love of food and sharing my favorites

Hi, I’m Ted. Previously a chef and head cook, in another life (30+ years ago). Join me as I show delicious low-sodium recipes, spices, and meals, since surviving a massive heart attack 3 years ago.

Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 cause of death around the world, killing nearly 18 million people annually.

After my heart attack, I was unable to eat out or eat much of what I had in my own kitchen, as I am limited to 1500 mg of sodium per day, not per meal. My choice was simple, get up and start cooking low-sodium meals and replace all my foods that were high in sodium or processed foods. I donated over 50 pounds of food to the food bank .

Local EECP Treatment

Being a chef and head cook 30+ years ago helped a lot in my research for better low salt foods. As I started collecting recipes from my group at cardio rehab, I searched everywhere and found no one made low-sodium meals that did not taste like bland and tasteless mush.

What started out as my personal menu of recipes for my food replacements, turned into this blooming project, helping others with heart health needs.
